Outdoors at The Plough
In the past, the safe, secure garden at The Plough was highly regarded and we plan to both restore, and enhance its reputation in the future.
We are exploring ways of using the garden in all seasons, and part of our vision is to provide a covered structure at the rear of the Meadow Bar. We aim to make this a comfortable and welcoming space at all times for both drinking and dining, and are collecting ideas for reducing the impact of our unreliable climate.
The neglect of the garden has left us with a serious challenge, and we see the enhancement of all our outdoor spaces as an ongoing and continually developing task.
The garden itself will ultimately be fully restored and will feature a safe area for families and children, away from the car park. In line with numerous requests, we are investigating the possibility of reinstating the much-loved “climbing tree” to keep children entertained and happy.
We plan to hold many outdoor events here; these may include community gatherings, markets, barbecues, cookery events, beer festivals and the occasional small musical event.
